AMatch Made in Heaven

My Nanday conure is 1 1/2 and his name is Malibu. We found him at PetSmart 14 months ago. When I first saw him in the cage for the first time he was walking like a duck and kept bobbing his head up and down. At first I thought he was crazy.

It was a match made in heaven.

He was not yet weaned and had 4 more weeks to go. My mom went through a lot to get him for me and my little sister. My mom had to come in and feed him at PetSmart for 2 times a day for 3 days to prove she could finish off his weaning.

He is the funniest bird I have ever met. He hangs off his toys and loves to squawk. He also likes to ride on the toy train in the photo (see right). Even though he can only say a few words he loves to have attention. When he falls asleep on his perch he sometimes falls off of them while fast asleep.

He thinks he is our watch dog and knows the sound of the school bus dropping me off at the end of our drive way. He also knows the sound of my mom's car pulling up the drive way.

When you walk in the door you have to say hello to him in order to stop his squawking. When the woman at the pet store told me I could hold him indeed I did.

After the second day of living with him I realized he is fascinated with jewelry. I think he is worth more than all the jewelry in the world and much much more.
