TJ and CyrusBy Jennifer Skaptason I have had Teejeebabes since September 30th of this past autumn. His birthday is May 20th and we will celebrate it at school. We already celebrated his half-birthday. Half-birthdays are big when you are in a class of 3 - 6 year olds. My room is a primary level Montessori environment. TJ came to school right away from Petco. Our afternoon class had already walked over to the store twice to visit him and the second time we all sat very quietly on the floor and took careful turns with TJ. Then when he got to Cyrus he pooped on Cy's pants leg and Cy fought back tears and continued to hold Teej and told Teej it was alright. Can you stand it?!? For a four year old to be so compassionate?!? Well I had already wanted TJ but to see how comfortable TJ was with all of the children and to see him elicit such sweetness from my friend Cy (who has been know to hit on occasion) pretty much sealed the deal. And guess who now refers to himself as the daddy??? This is what I hear during the day, "Come to me, TJ. Come to your daddy." And then he walks away with TJ on his shoulder saying, "Do you want some Daddy time?" TJ loves anyone, but he certainly knows certain people more than others. IF Cyrus walks by near Teej, TJ will lean out towards Cy and flutter his wings indicating he DOES want some Daddy time anytime he can get it. Mama Vivi then walks quickly in the opposite direction if TJ is on her shoulder. Vivien is just three years old. She has figured out to avoid the other people who TJ loves when she's holding him. But then yesterday Cyrus was in the hall crying because he didn't want to hang up his snow pants so Vivien stood in the doorway with TJ and told Cyrus, "After you hang up those pants want to come and train TJ with me?" Okay. I guess you had to be there. But this was a moment of complete sweetness from little Ms. Vivien. |
